Father’s Day Weekend Recap: Visiting Waynesville, North Carolina
We had a great long Father’s Day weekend exploring Waynesville with Drew’s family. We have a tradition of going to the mountains on Father’s Day weekend and again in the fall (usually one trip is tent camping). Since we have a three month old, we stayed in a nice cabin on the top of a mountain that overlooked the valley. It was amazing getting to sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine and enjoy the breathtaking view!
On Friday morning, we went on a short 2.5 mile hike with both kids! I wore Walker in the K’tan and Drew had Reid in the Ergo. It was amazing getting to enjoy nature with the boys. That evening we went to Froglevel Brewery for a drink and music. They have a great patio and lawn space that overlooks a creek. Reid had a blast dancing to the music and playing with the rocks while we enjoyed each other’s company.
On Saturday morning, I explored the local farmers market with my mother in law and Reid. Reid loved listening to the music (and dancing) and found many friendly dogs (and a fire hydrant of course!). Later while the others went on another hike, Drew, the boys and I went to the local park to have some fun before nap time. Following naps, we loaded up the car and headed to Boogum for a drink followed by pizza at Waynesville Pizza.
Prior to heading out on Sunday, we window shopped in downtown Waynesville before ending up at Boogum for a nice Father’s Day lunch.
We were so lucky to have great weather and enjoyed having the extra relaxing time together. All and all, it was a great way to celebrate Drew’s 3rd Father’s Day and first as a father of two 🙂
