Best Way To Spend Two Dollars on Quality Items
I am a bargain hunter/thrifty person and cannot stand overpaying for things! I like buying nice things, but want them for the best price.
That being said, being thrifty is different than being cheap. I still like quality items and do not like cheap c.r.a.p. that will eventually get thrown away as it is not quality. Here is a list of my favorite items under $2, yes that is right, under $2!! You can still get quality items and spend less than the cost of a happy meal.
Favorite things under $2:
Elf Eyebrow Pencil: I get asked all the time about my eyebrows. Frankly, I know very little about makeup, I tried this pencil about a year ago (first time ever doing my eyebrows) and fell in love. It only costs $2 and I swear by it!
Room Essentials Laundry Basket from Target: If you have multiple members of your family these baskets are AMAZING. They are small and stackable which makes storing them simple. I separate everyone’s clothes into their own basket to then be put away. Bonus: the boys love sorting all the folded laundry which helps this mama out.
Hot Wheels Cars: If you have toddler boys, then enough said. Hot Wheels cars don’t take up much space and provide hours of entertainment. For under a dollar at most stores, it is well worth it!
Lidl Customers, Chicken Breast on Sale: We just got a Lidl and y’all when I talk about a good price I mean a fanatic price. When Lidl overstocks chicken they put it on sale for $1.50 a sleeve of chicken–meaning that I can get 8 lbs or more of chicken tenders or breast for $1.50! That is a lot of chicken!! Tip: I usually see this special on Tuesdays, not every time, but when I do see this price I buy multiple packs and then freeze them for later!
Batteries, Gift Bags and Cards (.50 cents) at the Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree carries some amazing products for only a dollar or less. I purchase quality gift bags and batteries there. On birthdays, I purchase balloons, cards and banners for only a dollar.
Bambas from TJ’s: Best dollar you will ever spend if you have toddlers. Trader Joe’s carries Bambas in the chip aisle and I promise your kids will love them (if they like peanut butter). We buy them 5 at a time, especially for road trips!
Donuts at Local Donut Shop: My all time favorite spot to spend a dollar is to support our local donut shop. The boys each give the cashier a dollar in exchange for a fresh made sprinkle donut. It is a special treat and makes the boys so happy, plus they are delicious!
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a discussion about bargains without mentioning the dollar section at Target. I have found many holiday trinkets and little things for the boys (flash cards and potty training toys!) for a deep discount. While these aren’t the best quality all the time, it is worth a look at that section whenever you go.
What are your favorite bargain buys? I hope this helps save you a little money while still being happy with your purchases :). Happy shopping, friends!
