Simple and Delicious Baking Recipes Your Family Will LOVE!
What is a good stress reliever for you? Personally, I love to run but when the boys are taking “quiet time” I keep an ear out for them which means baking is my go to stress reliever. Recently, I have whipped up a couple fantastic recipes that are super simple and delicious AND even my picky eater will eat them π
As I cannot take credit for creating wonderful recipes, I will share links to the ones that I have made and let you know the adjustments I made to them!
And if you aren’t a baker, I totally urge you to give it a try. I PROMISE it isn’t as hard as you think and you will instantly feel accomplished, plus the happiness it brings when your family enjoys your baking is priceless π
Banana Muffins and Banana Cinnamon Bread. Y’all Covid was dubbed the year of banana bread for good reason–it is not only one of the easiest things to make, it creates less waste by using up all those bananas! And how many people got too ripe bananas delivered over the past year?! I can tell you, we certainly did!
These are two fantastic recipes to make muffins or bread. For the bread, I adjusted the frosting and simply mixed 1 cup of confectioners sugar with 1 tsp (or 2) of vanilla extract (you could use almond too!) and a few drops of water (use as much water as you need until you get the consisency you like, milk could be used instead of water too!).
Both the banana muffins and bread were devoured by my boys! They don’t contain a ton of sugar, thanks to the sweetness of ripe bananas, which makes them perfect for a snack or breakfast treat.
Homemade granola. I searched through recipes and ended up creating a hybrid of recipes, but this one is the main one I followed. I added in pecans and craisins to our batch. It turned out super delicious and both of the boys enjoyed eating it (while Drew and I ate the majority of it!). Next time, I am doubling the batch as we ate it so quickly!
Strawberry Oatmeal Bars. Y’all we went strawberry picking and had so many strawberries leftover. Instead of letting them go to waste, I used this recipe to make oatmeal bars. While I am not a huge fan of warm fruit, this was a hit! Bonus, you can freeze the bars for eating later in the year.
Strawberry Muffins. This is the next baking item on my list. This recipe got incredible reviews, plus you can freeze the muffins for up to 3 months! I have high hopes my boys will love them.
And it wouldn’t be a post about baking without including my all time FAVORITE dessert–Lemon Bundt Cake. While this recipe is time consuming and more advanced, the results are mind-blowing. If you have time and want to impress people, make this recipe! I promise you, you won’t regret it.
What is your favorite, simple recipe?!
Happy baking, friends π
