Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach Recap
I had an awesome long weekend traveling to Fernandina Beach, Florida. My mom has been looking at moving to the Amelia Island area for sometime now and I decided to take a trip with her to scope out her potential new home. My cousin, Kelsey, and two of my mom’s girlfriends joined along. It was a fun group of ladies and we all really enjoyed our stay on the island.
Fernandina Beach is such a cool town. It has small town charm, amazing restaurants, beautiful views, lots of sidewalks (a runner’s dream), extremely friendly people and is really a hidden gem on the Florida Georgia line. I seriously cannot believe that such an amazing location exists–and that it seems to not been discovered by many, as there are not tons of hotels, high-rises, tourists, etc. I really, really loved everything about the place!!
I had to take pictures of some of the most delicious eats. Again, it was such a pleasant surprise that incredible food existed in such a small town. Seriously everything that we ate–we enjoyed!
The Island has many cute restaurants, shops and bars downtown. Many of the local bars offered live music and there are many cute boutiques with friendly staff.
My Favorites:
Restaurant: 29 South
Bar: Dog Star
Shop: Twisted Sisters
As always it was wonderful spending time with my family. I really enjoyed our mini-vacation together. Fingers crossed that my mom (or cousin) decides to move to the awesome town!!
