Best Romantic Getaway in North Carolina: Half Mile Farm
Y’all our mini getaway to Highlands, North Carolina was so fun that it had to be a blog post. Drew and I take mini trips every winter around Western North Carolina (think Asheville and surrounding areas) as my in-laws take care of our boys at their home. We have stayed at the Inn at Biltmore, Grove Park Inn, Restoration in Asheville, Old Edwards and more…but our new favorite is Half Mile Farm in Highlands, North Carolina. Admittedly, Half Mile Farm has been on my bucket list for a few years now. 3 years ago, Drew and I stayed at Old Edwards and loved the quaint little town of Highlands. The…

Skiing at Cataloochee, North Carolina with Young Kids
We just got back from an amazing weekend in Western North Carolina. Y’all this ski trip was night and day from two years ago and I cannot say enough amazing things about Cataloochee and their staff. First off, let’s talk about location. Cataloochee is located outside of Maggie Valley in Western North Carolina. Luckily, this mountain is only 30 minutes from my in-laws making it the perfect place to ski for our family. The neighboring town is not much to talk about but they seem to have many places to dine and stay. They offer tubing too which looks like a lot of fun and we will definitely check it…

Rock and Roll Nashville Half Marathon Weekend Review
We just got back from finishing the Rock and Roll Nashville Half Marathon. It was Drew’s first half marathon and I made a personal record finishing in 1:42!! It was a great weekend and I am so proud of both Drew and my accomplishments, even if he says he “has zero desire to ever run a marathon!” ha! We left Atlanta around 12:30 and arrived in Nashville about 5 hours later on Friday afternoon. A big weather system was moving in, so we quickly went to the Expo to pick up our packets for the race. Rock and Roll race expos are HUGE and filled with running attire, accessories and…

St. Regis Deer Valley: Amazing 5 Day Trip to Park City
Drew and I just got back from an adults only trip to Deer Valley, Utah. Even though it is the “off season,” early September is where it is at for traveling out west. The crowds are less, the weather is still warm, the views are breathtaking and the prices are right. I am pretty sure it will be on our list of times to go out west from now on! Drew won a trip with his company as “President’s Pick” for his hard work this past year and we added on an additional day to enjoy ourselves. His company went above and beyond to spoil us and gave us fun…

BEST Travel Essentials when Traveling with Young Kids
We just got back from back to back road trips with the boys. Since they have been out of school, we have gone on three big trips and I have learned A LOT about what works best when traveling with young kids. We have flown, experienced delayed flight times, driven 9 plus hours solo with the boys, and after 2 days of being at home got back in the car for another 9 hour car ride! Needless to say, we have been on a lot of fun adventures and have seen some of our favorite people and are definitetly taking advantage of summer break! The things that I learned this…

Three Full Days in Outer Banks, North Carolina
We just got back from our beach vacation for the summer. It was so nice to be back in Pine Knoll Shores visiting Drew’s aunt and uncle again. It truly is one of my favorite places and their view from their dock is breathtaking. We have experimented with leaving at different times to tackle the 9 hour road trip, ultimately we decided that leaving first thing in the morning works best for our family. We hit the road right at 7am to miss Atlanta traffic and after making a few rest stops and giving the kids incentive bags; we arrived with smiles on our faces around 4 in the afternoon.…

Road Trip to Virginia and North Carolina with Little Ones
I just got back from a solo road trip with my 4 and 6 year old boys. While I was super nervous to go on an alone road trip with my boys, I am happy to report it was AMAZING and we made some lasting memories! Here, I will share some of the tips I learned from solo traveling along with some of our adventures to Virginia and North Carolina. Tips for Road Trips with Young Kids: 1. “Incentive Travel Bags” If you follow me on Instagram, then you know my researched hack about preparing bags for kids. I simply placed a small toy, a healthy snack and a treat…

Fun-Filled Long Weekend Staycation in Atlanta
Happy Summer!! Memorial Day Weekend is always a fun time as it kicks off the start of summer. Our anniversary sometimes falls on the weekend making it even an even more special time. This year, we had original plans to head to a parents getaway in Helen, GA but plans changed and we ended up having a wonderful weekend at home exploring our town! Friday evening, we went to the Atlanta Braves game. Y’all I cannot tell you how much fun it is to enjoy watching your kids watch America’s sport. The boys loved running in the play area, snacking on hotdogs, chips, popcorn and ice cream! Pretty sure their…

Family Fun Vacation to Fort Lauderdale with Young Children
Recently, we went on our first trip of the summer to visit friends in Fort Lauderdale. It has become a tradition to visit our close friends following Drew’s big budget meeting and the end of the school year. We spent 4 wonderful days playing in the water, chatting, eating and drinking and having the best time spending time catching up. It truly is wonderful how close friends’ children become close friends with each other (maybe there is something to that?!) On Saturday morning, we arrived at the airport after dropping Scout off at the dog sitters. Side note: if you are in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend Rover.com for…
