Edisto Beach Family Vacation 2019
Wow, this summer FLEW by! We scheduled our big family vacation for the last week of July (right before school starts in Atlanta). We had an absolute blast in Edisto and cannot wait to return next summer. It was the first year we did not stay in Drew’s family’s beach house, which sold this summer. Though it is super sad, we made the best of it and embraced a new tradition and new location (same island just different house!).My mother in law found a perfect rental house right on the river with its’ own dock and boat ramp, per Drew’s request. It was a change from being beach front, but such…

Greenville, SC Trip: Stay at the Aloft, Baby and Wedding Showers
We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Greenville, SC. We lived in Greenville for 3 1/2 years and absolutely love going back. This weekend, I had a baby shower for my college roommate and we had a wedding shower for our close friends. We decided to make a weekend of it and booked a room at the gorgeous Aloft hotel in downtown. We usually do not stay in hotels, but decided it was the best way to travel with both kids and have a semi-vacation. We left Saturday morning and while Walker and I attended the baby shower, Drew and Reid went on a Father-Son date to Cabela’s and…

Weekend Recap: Lake Murray and Chapin Visit
We have been a family on the go and loving all our summer travels. This past weekend, we loaded up the car and headed to my in-laws for some fun times on Lake Murray.Drew and I dream of living on a lake someday. That is our retirement goal and desire for our family in the future. While that dream is not possible in present day, we are lucky to visit my in-laws in Chapin, SC and enjoy family time on the water. It is so much fun watching Reid light up when we get on the boat and “go fast” in the water. He loves pointing out all the boats…

Vacation Recap: Fourth of July at Edisto Island, South Carolina
We just got back from an incredible 9 day vacation on Edisto Island, SC. We had an amazing time hanging out with family and friends and of course, our little boys. While we are definitely more sleep deprived than any other vacation we have ever had, we had a great time and cannot wait to go back soon.We are extremely lucky that Drew’s family has owned a beach house on Edisto for over 50 years. It is such a special place that we all treasure and enjoy reconnecting with family and friends. I started going to Edisto in college where our nights would be filled with going to Dockside and…

Father’s Day Weekend Recap: Visiting Waynesville, North Carolina
We had a great long Father’s Day weekend exploring Waynesville with Drew’s family. We have a tradition of going to the mountains on Father’s Day weekend and again in the fall (usually one trip is tent camping). Since we have a three month old, we stayed in a nice cabin on the top of a mountain that overlooked the valley. It was amazing getting to sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine and enjoy the breathtaking view! On Friday morning, we went on a short 2.5 mile hike with both kids! I wore Walker in the K’tan and Drew had Reid in the Ergo. It was amazing…

Memorial Day Weekend: First Beach Vacation with Two Babies at Edisto Island
We enjoyed our first trip to the beach with our family of four over the extra long Memorial Day weekend. It was an absolute blast hanging out with family and friends while having our babies enjoy the sand and water. It is crazy how much a year in toddlerhood changes. Reid was walking and playing with his toy trucks last year and showed no interest in the water. This year, Reid was running and jumping around and taking his trucks everywhere with him. He was hesitant about the water, but eventually enjoyed going in it with his daddy. Walker was much like Reid was 2 years prior. Walker enjoyed napping…

South Eastern Wildlife Expo: Charleston Visit
We had a whirlwind 36 hour trip to Charleston this weekend. I got the clear from my doctor to travel and we took our final trip as a family of 3 (plus Scout) to Charleston to visit with friends. Drew and I lived in Charleston for the first 3 years after college while I attended law school and he worked in sales. We both have a special place in our hearts for Charleston and absolutely love visiting when we get a chance. Many of our close friends live in Charleston and it makes visiting the town we love even more exciting and special. Friday evening, we spent hanging out with…

Atlanta Snowstorm 2017
Hard to believe that metro Atlanta got over 6 inches of snow this weekend. We had an absolute blast playing in the snow and enjoying the winter weather. Reid was not so sure about the snow and wanted to be held the entire time, refusing to be put down! I was quite surprised because most kids seem to love the snow, but every kid is different and I’m sure in future years I will not be able to get him to come inside when it snows! Despite Reid’s anti-snow kick, we had a blast playing outside in the snow. We made a snowman, threw snowballs, watched Scout go crazy in…

Weekend Recap: Lake Allatoona
We had a wonderful weekend enjoying the warm weather on the lake! One of the major concerns we had when moving to Atlanta was the lack of water around us. We are water lovers, Drew has always been a boater (fisher, shrimper, wakeboarder, skier, etc–you name it he will do it!) and ever since we started dating I have become one too! Needless to say, it was a factor in moving. Luckily, there is a little lake named Lake Allatoona that is about a 30 minute drive from our house. It takes about the same amount of time to drive to the lake as it did when we lived in Greenville.…

Life Lately: New Niece, Best Friend’s Baby, Trip to Maryland, Clemson Football Games
My life lately has been a busy one :). My sister and BIL welcomed my niece, Harper Ann, into the world on September 7th! I could not be more excited and happy for them. Of course, I could NOT wait to meet the little lady so Reid and I took a flight out that Sunday morning to see the happy family of 4! We stayed in Maryland for a few days and had lots of quality time with my family. I cannot express how much love our family has for Harper–and now much more shopping to do (I know I have a boy, but girl clothes are just so stinking…
