Cooper River Bridge Run 2015 and Family Time
As my memory on my iPhone keeps telling me that my cloud is filled–I have decided to post some pictures from my girls weekend a couple weeks back. It has been a standing tradition for a few years now to make a girls weekend out of the Cooper River Bridge Run. We started running the race back when we all first moved to Charleston after college. I lived in a house with 4 of my friends off of Wentworth/Pitt Street in downtown Charleston. It was a great transition from college to postgrad life–and really made us all feel like we were just living in a sorority house rather than being “grownups”. Needless to say, we all made wonderful memories and we get to relive those times (a little bit) every year for the bridge run.
I am happy to say that we all finished under an hour! My official time was 54 minutes. Admittedly, this race is more for the experience than actually trying to finish with a good time. I am happy to say that we all finished with smiles on our faces. The best part of the bridge run is post race time. We all ventured downtown to celebrate the race with the thousands of other runners and enjoy some delicious beverages (post race mimosa please!). As always, it was a great race and day!
On Sunday, I woke up early to head down to Fernandina Beach to see my sister, brother in law, nephew and mom. My sister and her little family travelled to Fernandina to check out the area and to see a few homes that my mom was looking at purchasing. I got to spend a few hours taking in all the nephew time I could get before they left to catch their flight back home. I seriously cannot believe how big he is getting!! He is getting a personality too, which makes him even cooler 🙂
Mom and I stayed in Fernandina for another day and checked out a few homes and enjoyed the warm Florida weather before heading back to Greenville. As always, I love seeing my family and take advantage of any opportunity I can get to spend time with them!
