Fun-Filled Long Weekend Staycation in Atlanta
Happy Summer!! Memorial Day Weekend is always a fun time as it kicks off the start of summer. Our anniversary sometimes falls on the weekend making it even an even more special time. This year, we had original plans to head to a parents getaway in Helen, GA but plans changed and we ended up having a wonderful weekend at home exploring our town! Friday evening, we went to the Atlanta Braves game. Y’all I cannot tell you how much fun it is to enjoy watching your kids watch America’s sport. The boys loved running in the play area, snacking on hotdogs, chips, popcorn and ice cream! Pretty sure their…

Fourth of July Weekend Recap: Family Fun with Friends and Fireworks
We had such a fun long Fourth of July weekend. It was the first time in months that we had visitors–and I have to say, I miss having guests! Drew’s best friend, Jake and his wife and kids came to visit. Reid and their oldest son are quickly becoming best buds, just like their daddys 🙂 They got in late Thursday evening which allowed us to have a full day on Friday. We ventured to the pool that afternoon, followed by nap time and a quiet evening chatting and eating homemade pizza (Drew’s latest obsession, which I secretly love!). We woke up on Saturday morning and ventured back to the…

Indoor Toddler Boy (and Girl) Activities
We have been so blessed with beautiful, sunny weather the past couple of months. My boys thrive when they are able to be outside and use their imaginations surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, our luck has changed and it has been rainy in Atlanta for the past couple weeks. The next few days calls for rain, which means this mama needs to be creative to make fun indoor activities for two rambunctious little boys. Today, I am sharing a few of the activities that we enjoy doing inside and that allows the boys to get their energy out. Since it is warmer outside, we use our covered porch to do some…

Motherhood Lesson: Riding a Bike for the First Time
I write this with so much pride for my four year old: Reid rode a bike for the first time! I am beyond amazed that with very little assistance and skipping training wheels, he was able to ride a bike on his first try. Â All I have to say is: balance bikes are amazing! We gave Reid a balance bike when he was 2.5 years old. Â He took to it pretty immediately and loved going on bike rides around the neighborhood. Â At first he simply walked with the bike (probably for the first 6 months) and then around 3 he got the hang of it and would balance and glide along…

Training for a Half Marathon in 7 Weeks
I did it, I successfully ran the Atlanta Half Marathon in 1:50!! After a long 6 year hiatus from distance running, I am BACK 🙂The thing that I want to share most is my training, which is something that is COMPLETELY different than my past marathon training.  Training for the Atlanta Half Marathon, I was all about showing myself grace and taking it super easy on myself which I believe paid off in the end.  It is crazy to me to think that I averaged less than 8:30 minute miles, when I was training at a 10:30 pace! Here is a little breakdown of how I trained for the half marathon…

Life Lately: Moving to Atlanta, Georgia
A new year, a new website and a new location! It has been a crazy start of 2017, but I am looking forward to all the exciting new things to come.  After months of debate, Drew took a promotion and we relocated to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia at the beginning of the new year! It was a whirlwind of a couple months–buying and selling homes is not for the weak (I have taken a hiatus from watching HGTV because I seriously cannot look at anymore homes for a long while!).  Luckily, we sold our home in Greenville, South Carolina in under a week and found a beautiful home in Atlanta…
