Weekend Recap: Visiting Friends in Sullivans Island, South Carolina
We just got back from a weekend away visiting friends and family. It has been so nice traveling again and I feel super comfortable as we are basically just quarantining in different locations. This past weekend we visited one of my best friends and Drew’s sister. It was a quick trip but was wonderful being back in the city we love. On Friday night, we stayed with Drew’s sister in Park Circle (a super cute and growing town just north of Charleston). She welcomed us with a wonderful home cooked meal and kept the kids very entertained. The boys shared a room and a bed for the first time–lets just…

Stress Relief Techniques During The Quarantine
Week four of the coronavirus quarantine and its time to find new stress relief techniques in our household. We have been indulging more on our adult beverages and running/biking to relieve stress. While the extra runs are certainly great for the body, the alcohol consumption is definitely not! After many discussions, input from others (thank you friends on social media!) and online research; I complied a list of activities that hopefully will provide joy and stress relief to others during this crazy period. List of Stress Relief Activities: Journalling: If you haven’t tried journalling now is a perfect time to preserve your memories of this crazy time and destress by…

South Eastern Wildlife Expo: Charleston Visit
We had a whirlwind 36 hour trip to Charleston this weekend. I got the clear from my doctor to travel and we took our final trip as a family of 3 (plus Scout) to Charleston to visit with friends. Drew and I lived in Charleston for the first 3 years after college while I attended law school and he worked in sales. We both have a special place in our hearts for Charleston and absolutely love visiting when we get a chance. Many of our close friends live in Charleston and it makes visiting the town we love even more exciting and special. Friday evening, we spent hanging out with…

Weekend Recap: Apple Picking, Traveler’s Rest, Clemson and Hosting Refugees from Charleston (Hurricane Matthew)
Good morning! Happy Monday 🙂 We had quite the eventful weekend. Originally, we were planning to take a trip to North Carolina and then go pumpkin picking after church but our plans changed a little. Our good friends ended up coming to stay with us from Wednesday evening until Sunday morning because of Hurricane Matthew. We were more than happy to welcome them to higher and safer ground! We ended up having a very fun weekend and Reid loved playing with his best friend, Watson. On Friday, we all went to Clemson to enjoy some wings and beer before the Clemson game. Clemson was a wonderful way to brighten the…

First Night Out without Baby
This weekend we celebrated Reid’s half birthday and had our first night away from our baby boy. Drew and I went to Atlanta for our college friends’ wedding. It was the perfect time and opportunity to have a night away. Since the wedding was only 2 hours away, I felt comfortable leaving Reid with his grandparents knowing that I could be home if I needed to (they were great sports about my 2 page instructions!). We took advantage of the time away–we went to Gypsy Kitchen prior to the ceremony for a drink with a few of my sorority sisters, following the reception at the Piedmont Driving Club we went…

5 Month Old and Weekend Recap
My baby boy is officially 5 months old–seriously where is the time going?! He is growing so fast and becoming more of a ‘person’ every day. Things about my 5 month old, Reid: He learned how to bounce in his jumperoo and LOVES it He is a very happy boy, loves to laugh, loves kisses He is a flirt with everyone He has started to notice Scout (our dog) and even pet her the other day–too sweet! He loves the water and going in the pool He doesn’t really like to nap–he takes one in the morning around 10:30 (as long as he is in the car seat and running…

Weekend Update: Edisto Island for the Fourth of July
Today I am linking up with Tara for Weekend Update. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. I went to Edisto Island with a couple close friends for a great long weekend of fun in the sun! Drew’s family has a beach house on Edisto Island that we have been going to for years. We usually invite our close friends, Megan and Brandon to join us when we go down to Edisto. Over the years, it has become a tradition to go to the beach house for the Fourth of July! We got to the Island around 6:00 on Thursday afternoon. Luckily, we were able to leave Greenville…

Asheville Bachelorette Party Weekend
Wow this weekend was a fun one! After months and months of preparation, Paige’s Bachelorette party in Asheville, North Carolina went off without a hitch (or at least not a major one!). Paige has been my best friend since we were both 2 years old–this fourth of July marks our 25th anniversary–and deserved the best last fling before the ring. We got up to the rental home (VRBO.com rental) around 2 on Friday afternoon. Laura, Holly and I arrived before the rest of the gang around 2 on Friday afternoon. As we had 13 girls, we rented a big home from VRBO.com that could accommodate all of us. It was…

Weekend Recap with a side of Homemade Chocolate Chip Pecan Banana Bread
Happy Monday! This weekend was a busy one. Friday night started off with a wonderful night in with my husband. We have been busy/traveling so much that it was really nice to have a night in! I rented 50 Shades of Grey and forced Drew to watch it with me (after whining that this was not a movie that he would EVER pick out). I thought that the movie was okay, obviously the book was better–but isn’t that how movies/books always are?! I will definitely be watching the next couple when they come out. Saturday morning, I painted/put the first coat of paint on our sunroom. Our biggest complaint about…

Bridal Shower at Willow Creek Inn and Memorial Day Weekend
Please note: I lost my computer charger and didn’t post this when I originally wanted to–oops!! Hello and happy Tuesday! Isn’t it so great when the weekday starts on Tuesday?! On a Tuesday… This weekend I had the great pleasure of attending my best friend’s bridal shower in Vale, North Carolina. My best friend, Paige, and I have been friends since we were 2 years old! Yes, we go wayyyy back. I lived in Hickory, North Carolina until I was in middle school when my family moved to Maryland. Despite being miles apart, Paige and I managed to stay close. When it was time to tour colleges, we went together…
