Training for a Half Marathon in 7 Weeks
I did it, I successfully ran the Atlanta Half Marathon in 1:50!! After a long 6 year hiatus from distance running, I am BACK 🙂The thing that I want to share most is my training, which is something that is COMPLETELY different than my past marathon training. Training for the Atlanta Half Marathon, I was all about showing myself grace and taking it super easy on myself which I believe paid off in the end. Good morning! I have been MIA because I have been traveling up and down the east coast. My sister, BIL and nephew just moved to a new city and new home. I told my sister as a house warming gift that I would help her paint the living room dubbed as the “red room of pain.” So I decided to make a trip of it and travel up to Maryland for a long weekend (with Scout in tow of course!). Recap on Swamp Rabbit 5k with Girls on the Run and Adults Playing Hooky
Yesterday was the final day of the Girls on the Run Spring 2015 season! Our season ran from February to May with the final 5k run last Friday evening. Our Greenville girls joined 6 thousand other runners in the Swamp Rabbit 5k run. Friday night was so much fun and it was amazing to see all of our girls finish the race–with smiles on their faces :). Most of our girls ran with their parents, friends or other coaches. It is such an amazing thing that 3rd-5th graders can say that they ran a 5k!
