Family Vacation to Pine Knoll Shores, Southern Outer Banks
We just got back from a very relaxing and peaceful trip visiting Drew’s aunt and uncle in the southern Outer Banks. I don’t know how I can describe it as relaxing when we have two little boys–but some how it really restored us and brought us back feeling refreshed (rather than feeling like we needed a vacation from our vacation and a full body detox!). We travelled down to Pine Knoll Shores on Wednesday afternoon, it is a pretty long 8 hour trip and thankfully Drew was able to work in the car the whole way down (meaning, I drove while entertaining two toddlers–thankfully, they are amazing car riders!). Since…

Five Favorites from Amazon: Skin Care, Scooter, Workout Shirts and More!
Have you noticed a lot more delivery trucks driving around town recently? Not going to lie, we have been doing our fair share to help the economy utilizing online shopping! Here is a list of 5 of my favorite purchases from Amazon (I will share my favorite purchases from Target and Costco soon!). Top 5 Amazon Purchases and Deals: Vitamin C and Retinol: I recently posted on my instastories about my new skin care routine, including vitamin C and Retinol. I guess I live in a cave (and admittedly, just started routinely washing my face in January–gross, but true!), but I just discovered two inexpensive skin ointments that assist in…

Weekend Recap: Visiting Friends in Sullivans Island, South Carolina
We just got back from a weekend away visiting friends and family. It has been so nice traveling again and I feel super comfortable as we are basically just quarantining in different locations. This past weekend we visited one of my best friends and Drew’s sister. It was a quick trip but was wonderful being back in the city we love. On Friday night, we stayed with Drew’s sister in Park Circle (a super cute and growing town just north of Charleston). She welcomed us with a wonderful home cooked meal and kept the kids very entertained. The boys shared a room and a bed for the first time–lets just…

First Vacation after Coronavirus: Long Weekend in Destin and Crab Island
We just came back from an incredible long weekend with some of our closest friends. We originally planned to visit Drew’s best friend and his family, who welcomed a new baby girl in January, in March. However, with the coronavirus in full swing we decided to postpone until May. While I was super hesitant given that restrictions had just been loosened, I am very happy that we decided to go. I did not realize how much our entire family was craving some normalcy and socialization with close friends. Many of our friends in Atlanta travel to 30A for family vacations. We always go to South Carolina beaches, and never experienced the…

Teacher Appreciation Week Ideas
If you ever want to be more involved in your child’s school life, I urge your to volunteer to be the room parent. I was unsure and hesitant about being a room parent as I didn’t know how much of a time commitment and involved it was going to be, but I am so happy that I stepped up and am able to be more involved in my child’s school life 🙂 Being a room mom is not crazy involved, but you do lend an extra hand when needed. You pick out and buy the different gifts for birthdays, holidays and teacher appreciation week. You also help with all of…

Greenville, SC Trip: Stay at the Aloft, Baby and Wedding Showers
We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Greenville, SC. We lived in Greenville for 3 1/2 years and absolutely love going back. This weekend, I had a baby shower for my college roommate and we had a wedding shower for our close friends. We decided to make a weekend of it and booked a room at the gorgeous Aloft hotel in downtown. We usually do not stay in hotels, but decided it was the best way to travel with both kids and have a semi-vacation. We left Saturday morning and while Walker and I attended the baby shower, Drew and Reid went on a Father-Son date to Cabela’s and…

Weekend Recap: Lake Murray and Chapin Visit
We have been a family on the go and loving all our summer travels. This past weekend, we loaded up the car and headed to my in-laws for some fun times on Lake Murray.Drew and I dream of living on a lake someday. That is our retirement goal and desire for our family in the future. While that dream is not possible in present day, we are lucky to visit my in-laws in Chapin, SC and enjoy family time on the water. It is so much fun watching Reid light up when we get on the boat and “go fast” in the water. He loves pointing out all the boats…

Vacation Recap: Fourth of July at Edisto Island, South Carolina
We just got back from an incredible 9 day vacation on Edisto Island, SC. We had an amazing time hanging out with family and friends and of course, our little boys. While we are definitely more sleep deprived than any other vacation we have ever had, we had a great time and cannot wait to go back soon.We are extremely lucky that Drew’s family has owned a beach house on Edisto for over 50 years. It is such a special place that we all treasure and enjoy reconnecting with family and friends. I started going to Edisto in college where our nights would be filled with going to Dockside and…
