• Pool Bag Essentials with Kids to Simplify Life this Summer

Preparing for the pool this summer is A LOT simpler since I have my MUST HAVE list from last summer (I found a post that I never published!). I thought I would share with y’all my go to pool bag to help simplify life a little 🙂 For reference, my boys are 3 and 5. They don’t know how to swim yet (long story), but they are working on it. Here is my list of 10 LOVED items for summer. Bogg Bag: Y’all I get asked about this bag ALL THE TIME. It is super cute, durable and very practical. It is super versatile too, I brought it along to…

  • Lazy Girl Grapefruit Margarita Recipe

If you know me, then you know I love me some wine. While I may not be a “wine-o,” I am the girl that orders wine at breweries and takes it to the beach (even though it is inconvenient ha!). However, over the past few months I have had issues drinking wine. The next morning, even if I only have one glass of wine–I wake up feeling horrible and not able to function as optimal as I like. I tried drinking organic wine, sulfate free wine, wine with low sugar, and really any trick in the book to make wine not cause me miserable mornings—well, nothing seemed to work. In…

  • Anniversary Weekend and Weekend on Lake Lanier

We celebrated our 6th anniversary this weekend with plenty of family time and sunshine. While it wasn’t a typical anniversary of going to a tropical island, to the beach or even out to a fancy dinner–it was exactly how I wanted to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary (lets be honest, a tropical island vacation will always trump everything–but you know what I’m saying!). We started the weekend off with a pool night with a few of our neighbors. Our neighborhood is starting to “turn over” with new, younger families moving in which means that our boys are finding new friends to play with. It is amazing to see the boys…

  • Memorial Day Weekend 2020: Family Time and Pool Time

This long weekend was filled with pool time for our little family. Luckily, our neighborhood pool opened on Friday which allowed for us to enjoy the pool four days in a row. I am pretty sure this summer our boys are going to become quite the little fish. Our pool has many restrictions, which are actually not that hard to follow and allow us to have a safe environment to enjoy swimming. The basic rules: sign up online for your spot (limited to 50 people), no floats, keep 6 ft apart and bring your own chair. People are not allowed to bring guests at this time, but it allows for…

  • Flying with Baby: Reid’s First Trip to Minnesota and Weekend at the Lake

What a manic Monday… Reid and I have had a whirlwind of a week.  On Monday we flew to Minnesota to visit my Nana.  I was super nervous as I was flying alone with a 4 month old (meeting my mom in Minneapolis), but Reid was a great flier and people were so sweet and helpful along the trip–it really does take a village!  I would say that the travel was smooth sailing, BUT I was flying Southwest and my flights on the way out got delayed by almost 24 hours! (stuck in the Atlanta airport until 1:30 a.m. when I was supposed to fly out at 9 a.m.) and…

  • Easy Like a Sunday Morning and Pool Daze

Good morning!  We had a wonderful (and somewhat relaxing) weekend.  It was a gorgeous Friday evening and perfect temperature to have a little happy hour by the pool.  We had a drink poolside with a couple snacks and put Reid in the water for the first time!  I wish I could say that he LOVED it, but he was more confused than anything.  Overtime I am sure he will love getting in the water and playing. On Saturday, after doing some chores we headed up to the pool again for a little family time.  We forgot Reid’s swim diaper so we could only put his toes in the water, but…

  • Top 5 Summer Reads

Good morning! Yesterday, Laura came over to discuss the final workings of Paige’s Bachelorette party this coming weekend.  I seriously cannot wait, it is going to be a blast–but I have a ton to get done before then!  We decided to go up to the pool to catch a few rays and cool off, as my house is still without AC (the guy is coming today thank goodness!). When we were at the pool discussing the ins and outs of the partay, our discussion randomly switched to talking about books that we wanted to read this summer.  I am pretty much all or nothing when it comes to reading (aka…

  • 100 Degree Run

Weatherman says that it is going to be another hot one.  I have a feeling that this summer is going to be exceptionally HOT.  I am not complaining because I love the heat so much more than the cold–but our AC isn’t working properly downstairs making it consistently hot, hot, hot in my household! Yesterday, I had every intention of going for a run in the morning but that run turned into a midday run.  Whoopies! Since I got a later start, I decided to go on my shady 5 mile route that I run with Scout (it was too hot to take my furry friend).  I was a little…
