• Road Trips with Toddlers (without screen time): Tips and Tricks for an Enjoyable Car Ride

We have gone on our fair share of car rides this year and I thought I would share a couple of the things we do to make the car rides less chaotic! Having two energetic toddlers confined to a car for 5+ hours can be daunting, but we have a few tricks that allow us to make the road trips enjoyable and lets be honest, tolerable 😉 It is probably not a popular opinion, but I am not a huge fan of screen time. For us, it makes my kids become little monsters as soon as we take away screens. I would rather not deal with the mood shift, so…

  • Weekend Recap: Visiting Friends in Sullivans Island, South Carolina

We just got back from a weekend away visiting friends and family. It has been so nice traveling again and I feel super comfortable as we are basically just quarantining in different locations. This past weekend we visited one of my best friends and Drew’s sister. It was a quick trip but was wonderful being back in the city we love. On Friday night, we stayed with Drew’s sister in Park Circle (a super cute and growing town just north of Charleston). She welcomed us with a wonderful home cooked meal and kept the kids very entertained. The boys shared a room and a bed for the first time–lets just…

  • First Vacation after Coronavirus: Long Weekend in Destin and Crab Island

We just came back from an incredible long weekend with some of our closest friends.  We originally planned to visit Drew’s best friend and his family, who welcomed a new baby girl in January, in March.  However, with the coronavirus in full swing we decided to postpone until May.  While I was super hesitant given that restrictions had just been loosened, I am very happy that we decided to go.  I did not realize how much our entire family was craving some normalcy and socialization with close friends. Many of our friends in Atlanta travel to 30A for family vacations.  We always go to South Carolina beaches, and never experienced the…

  • Camping with a Toddler and Baby: Our Trip to Balsam, North Carolina

We just got back from our first camping trip as a family of 4.  I was apprehensive about camping with a baby and a toddler, but boy I am so happy we did!  Drew grew up camping with his family and Boy Scout troop and finds it important that we raise our boys loving the outdoors.  I am more of a “city girl” when it comes to the outdoors, but figure that since camping is so important to my husband I could either “join em” or be left out.For our inaugural camping trip with Walker (we went camping with Reid when he was 15 months old), we went to a…

  • Long (kid-free) Weekend at St. Regis Bal Harbour

Drew and I just got back from the most refreshing and revitalizing mini-vacation.  We spent 3 days and 2 nights at the St. Regis Bar Harbour, courtesy of his company!  It was such a wonderful vacation that really snuck up on us and allowed us to have some time to ourselves. We flew out first thing Friday morning and checked into the hotel around noon.  We thought that Friday was going to be the only sunny day, as there was a strong chance of a tropical storm (thank goodness the weathermen were wrong!), so we maximized our suntanning time.  We laid out on the beach, went for a walk on the…

  • Vacation Recap: Fourth of July at Edisto Island, South Carolina

We just got back from an incredible 9 day vacation on Edisto Island, SC.  We had an amazing time hanging out with family and friends and of course, our little boys.  While we are definitely more sleep deprived than any other vacation we have ever had, we had a great time and cannot wait to go back soon.We are extremely lucky that Drew’s family has owned a beach house on Edisto for over 50 years.  It is such a special place that we all treasure and enjoy reconnecting with family and friends.  I started going to Edisto in college where our nights would be filled with going to Dockside and…

  • Father’s Day Weekend Recap: Visiting Waynesville, North Carolina

We had a great long Father’s Day weekend exploring Waynesville with Drew’s family.  We have a tradition of going to the mountains on Father’s Day weekend and again in the fall (usually one trip is tent camping).  Since we have a three month old, we stayed in a nice cabin on the top of a mountain that overlooked the valley.  It was amazing getting to sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine and enjoy the breathtaking view! On Friday morning, we went on a short 2.5 mile hike with both kids!  I wore Walker in the K’tan and Drew had Reid in the Ergo.  It was amazing…

  • South Eastern Wildlife Expo: Charleston Visit

We had a whirlwind 36 hour trip to Charleston this weekend.  I got the clear from my doctor to travel and we took our final trip as a family of 3 (plus Scout) to Charleston to visit with friends.  Drew and I lived in Charleston for the first 3 years after college while I attended law school and he worked in sales.  We both have a special place in our hearts for Charleston and absolutely love visiting when we get a chance.  Many of our close friends live in Charleston and it makes visiting the town we love even more exciting and special. Friday evening, we spent hanging out with…

  • Life Lately: Moving to Atlanta, Georgia

A new year, a new website and a new location! It has been a crazy start of 2017, but I am looking forward to all the exciting new things to come.  After months of debate, Drew took a promotion and we relocated to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia at the beginning of the new year! It was a whirlwind of a couple months–buying and selling homes is not for the weak (I have taken a hiatus from watching HGTV because I seriously cannot look at anymore homes for a long while!).   Luckily, we sold our home in Greenville, South Carolina in under a week and found a beautiful home in Atlanta…

  • Life Lately: New Niece, Best Friend’s Baby, Trip to Maryland, Clemson Football Games

My life lately has been a busy one :).  My sister and BIL welcomed my niece, Harper Ann, into the world on September 7th! I could not be more excited and happy for them.  Of course, I could NOT wait to meet the little lady so Reid and I took a flight out that Sunday morning to see the happy family of 4!  We stayed in Maryland for a few days and had lots of quality time with my family.  I cannot express how much love our family has for Harper–and now much more shopping to do (I know I have a boy, but girl clothes are just so stinking…
