Weekend Recap: Lake Murray and Chapin Visit
We have been a family on the go and loving all our summer travels. This past weekend, we loaded up the car and headed to my in-laws for some fun times on Lake Murray.Drew and I dream of living on a lake someday. That is our retirement goal and desire for our family in the future. While that dream is not possible in present day, we are lucky to visit my in-laws in Chapin, SC and enjoy family time on the water. It is so much fun watching Reid light up when we get on the boat and “go fast” in the water. He loves pointing out all the boats and jet skis passing by. Reid started to show interest in his fishing rod last week and Drew is very eager to take him fishing when he gets a little older. You can see by the look in his eye that Reid is a water baby and shares our love for boating. Saturday morning, Drew and I spent some alone time with Reid on the lake. We stopped at a little beach and enjoyed swimming and playing in the sand. It is always special to spend some one on one time with Reid. After lunch and putting Reid down for a nap, Drew and I went out for some “adult time” with a couple of our friends. We had a blast enjoying good music and cocktails on the lake while my in-laws watched the boys. We love having time to reconnect and hanging out with friends without (our little) distractions 🙂Sunday morning, we loaded up the boat with the whole gang and headed out for a little fun in the sun before an afternoon thunderstorm. It was a blast having the grandparents and little ones out on the water. Walker is a natural and seriously could not have been a better baby. He was super smiley and chill the entire time. We could not have asked for a better weekend. I love being able to spend time with my little family in the sun and water. I look forward to raising our boys on the water and hope that there will be many sunny days on the lake wake boarding, tubing and spending time together in our future 🙂
